What is MiWAM?

The Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) is the Unemployment Insurance Agency’s (UIA) system for managing your unemployment account electronically. MiWAM allows you to perform routine transactions such as filing reports, paying taxes, viewing letters and updating physical, legal and mailing addresses.

The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) administers the unemployment insurance program that provides temporary financial assistance to individuals who become unemployed through no fault of their own. Benefits are paid through taxes on employers covered under the Michigan Employment Security Act.

You may also add other users to perform various functions within your account, such as benefit determinations and Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) applications. Every transaction you make is recorded electronically and is always available for your viewing, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hard copies of your letters and transactions can be printed for your convenience.

For employers, maintaining your account online is safer, more accurate, quicker, allows for more real-time processing, and provides pandemic emergency unemployment compensation.
